Body Work

Massage & Therapy

Massage is one of the oldest, simplest forms of therapy and is a system of stroking, pressing and kneading different areas of the body to relieve pain, relax, stimulate, and tone the body. Massage does much more than create a pleasant sensation on the skin, it also works on the soft tissues (the muscles, tendons, and ligaments) to improve muscle tone. Although it largely affects the muscles just under the skin, its benefits may also reach the deeper layers of muscle and possibly even the organs themselves. Massage also stimulates blood circulation and assists the lymphatic system (which runs parallel to the circulatory system), improving the elimination of waste throughout the body.

Benefits of Massage

Bodywork offers a drug-free, non-invasive and humanistic approach based on the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

Massage has many physiological effects, such as:

  • Increasing circulation, allowing the body to pump more oxygen and nutrients into tissues and vital organs.
  • Stimulating the lymph system, the body's natural defence, against toxic invaders.
  • Relaxing and softening injured and overused muscles.
  • Reducing spasms and cramping.
  • Increasing joint flexibility.
  • Reducing recovery time for strenuous workouts and eliminating subsequent pains of the athlete at any level.
  • Releasing endorphins, the body's natural painkiller. For this reason, massage is being incorporated into treatment for chronic illness, injury and recovery from surgery to control and relieve pain. (needs to be moved in to be under Releasing)
  • Reducing post-surgery adhesions and edema and reducing and realigning scar tissue after healing has occurred.
  • Improving range of motion and decreasing discomfort for patients with low back pain..
  • Providing exercise and stretching for atrophied muscles and reducing shortening of the muscles for those with restricted range of motion. (needs to be moved in to be under Providing)

Our body is our temple, we must look after it and maintain it fo r the journey it must take in this life.

It is our vessel, so it is important for us to look after it inside and out.

Daavid Therapy uses these principles and intensifies their effect by applying them to reflex points all over the body. These reflex points are concentrated on areas such as the feet, the hands, the collar bone, the ears, the face, the skull and the back. Each reflex area is a full representation of the Body.
